The Jamaica committee is responsible for the publicity,  and putting together of all the Jamaica events.

​2020 Jamaica- As announced at Mass today, we want to thank Mr. Juan Alvarez Jr. for answering our call as our 2020 Jamaica chairperson and Mrs. Rosemary Leath as co-chairperson. We ask that you give your support and help to Juan & Rosemary as they take on this huge endeavor. They cordially invite everyone to the 2020 Jamaica kick-off meeting which will be held on Thursday, September 27th at 7PM in RE Bldg Room #1.

Attention  all Jamaica booth chairpersons and committee members. Deadline to email your thank you’s, donations etc, anything Jamaica to include in the Jamaica bulletin is this Monday, Aug. 5th 12noon. Please email to rodriguez.sylvia.smvl@gmail.com.

Jamaica. We are still
accepting donations for canned sodas, 2 liter
sodas. Tamale Volunteers Needed
Jamaica weekend -Fri. July 26th & Sat. July 27th
to help cook, sell and wrap tamales, to sell
sodas and with clean-up.
PARISHIONERS: If you picked up raffle tickets
to sell at the office or from the Jamaica
committee, we ask that you please return
them and the proceeds to the parish office no
later than this WEDNESDAY JULY 24TH.
This helps the raffle booth expedite sales
during the Jamaica. If you can’t return them to
the office, you may do so at the raffle booth on
the Friday & Saturday of Jamaica. Deadline is
9pm on Saturday.
ATTENTION ALL ROYALTY CANDIDATES &
PARENTS: Reminder the last day to turn in
your raffle tickets and proceeds for all
fundraisers is THURSDAY, JULY 25TH AT 3PM
(NO EXCEPTIONS)! Followed by the meeting
with Fr. Ed to count your receipts is at 4PM.
ONLY PARENTS & CANDIDATES ARE ASKED TO
ATTEND!
Calling all bakers! We are asking for donations
of baked goods for the sweet booth. We need
volunteers for clean-up of our grounds.
Jamaica Club Memberships- You still have time
to become a club member for either the $50 or
$100. Unfortunately we are a lil behind in
memberships compare to this time last year.
The proceeds from these memberships goes
toward defraying the cost of the Jamaica
expenses. In the $100 club you and a loved one
will be enrolled in the Clerical Endowment
Fund Mass & Prayer remembrance for 1 year.
This year’s Jamaica will once again feature a
VIP section. The reserved tables for 8 comes
with one reserved parking pass. The cost is
$250 per table for both nights. Keep in mind
you can share the cost with your family
members or friends. We have five table
reserved and five tables available. Please stop
by the parish office and see Paula Aguilar or
Helen Juarez on Tuesday, Wednesday or
Friday. The VIP Committee members would
like to thank the following parishioners who
have already reserved their tables: Waldo &

Greetings, my name is Paul Rodriguez, I have the honor of Chairing the 2019 Jamaica Festival. The SMJF has formed a board of officers in order to proceed with fundraising and recruitment: Chair - Paul Rodriguez; Co-Chair - Timoteo “Tim” Juarez Jr.; Interim Treasurer - Stella Limas; and Secretary - Diane Delgado.  

Priorities: Royalty Court - Queen and King candidates are an essential part of the program, and we are asking all interested youth to contact me to discuss the prospect of participating in the Royalty Court.  I understand this is a big commitment, and there are a lot of questions to be asked.  I will work hard to provide clear and concise answers to the best of my ability.  Please email me at Jamaica.smvl@gmail.com.

Breakfast Volunteers: We are also in need of breakfast volunteers to put on the “best breakfast on Sunday”.  We have reserved the 3rd Sunday of each month for breakfast and hope to get many volunteers in order to make the work easier for all.  Please email me at Jamaica.smvl@gmail.com.

Other Chair positions are open, and we will continue to recruit for these positions. Anyone interested in leading a chair position please contact me at the aforementioned email address.
